Mankind is like the "prodigal son" because they have usurped their divine inheritance, turned their back upon the Father/Mother Principle of their God Presences, and have gone their own ways in the world. Having forgotten their high birth in the Heart of God, they no longer benefit from their divine parentage and are adrift in problems and fears of their own creation. It is the focus on the outer self that chops them off from the Godhead, producing this consciousness of the "prodigal son". When you allow problems, burdens and fears to revolve in your consciousness, you are playing by the world's rules. The key to tapping into the assistance of the Ascended Masters is in forsaking the ambitions of your outer self and making the Will of your Presence your agenda. When you look to your Presence for your priorities, things change and you can be lifted into an entirely different life as part of the greater Divine Family.
